  • THE IRON-FORMATION IS BOUNDED BY FINE-GRAINED SCHISTS AND PHYLLITE. THE IRON-FORMATION VARIES FROM THIN TO THICK BEDDED AND IS COMPOSED OF FINE-GRAINED, CHERTY QUARTZ AND MAGNETITE WITH SOME HEMATITE, AND IN SOME LAYERS, CHLORITE AND GARNET.

  • THE MAGNETITE DEPOSIT OCCURS AS A BELT OF PRECAMBRIAN IRON-FORMATION FROM 500 TO 1,000 FT WIDE AND ABOUT 14,000 FT LONG. IT DIPS NEARLY VERTICALLY RANGING FROM 80 DEGREES BOTH NORTH AND SOUTH. MINING WOULD BE BY OPEN PIT AND CONCENTRATION BY MAGNETIC SEPARATION AFTER FINE GRINDING.
