  • THE ORE BODY WAS 40 FT THICK, 800 FT LONG, AND AS MUCH AS 30 FT WIDE. THE DEPOSIT IS ALONG TWO NEARLY PARALLEL E-W STRIKNING CREVICES. WATER FLOW IS REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN FAIRLY STRONG.

Deposit THE UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY ZINC-LEAD DISTRICT LIES WITHIN THE SO-CALLED DRIFTLESS AREA WHERE NO MANTLE OF GLACIAL DRIFT IS PRESENT TO OBSCURE THE ROCK EXPOSURES. NATURAL CAVES ARE COMMON IN THE DISTRICT.
Deposit IN 1905, THIS MINE WAS ONE OF THE BEST KNOWN MINES NEAR GALENA.
Deposit THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF A HONEYCOMB DEPOSIT. ONE OF THE LARGEST TOP-RUN MINES IN THE DISTRICT.
