AREA 1, 31.2 M TONNES AT 45.3% FE; AREA 2, 17.2 M TONNES AT 47.8% FE; TOTAL, 48.4 M TONNES AT 46.2% FE, OF WHICH 15.0 M TONNES ARE OPEN-PITTABLE.

Comments on development

  • ECON.COM: LARGE RESERVES OF LOW-GRADE PHOSPHATIC IRONSTONE HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED IN TWO MAIN AREAS. EXTENSIVE SMALL-SCALE FAULTING HAS OCCURRED IN BOTH AREAS, AND THE IRONSTONES ARE PROBABLY NOT AMENABLE TO UNDERGROUND MINING METHODS.
