Comments on the geologic information

  • CARBONACEOUS SCHIST LACED WITH LIMONITE-STAINED QTZ STRINGERS. THE SCHIST IS FAULT CONTACT WITH QTZITE. ABOUT 2 FT SOUTH OF THIS CONTACT IS A FAULT MINERALIZED WITH QTZ (ABOUT 4 IN THICK). A POLISHED SECTION OF THE QUARTZ SHOWS THAT IT AND SCATTERED SUBHEDRAL CRYSTALS OF ARSENOPYRITE WERE DEPOSITED FIRST; LATER BOULANGERITE WAS INTRODUCED, REPLACING THE EARLIER MINERALS ALONG FRACTURES.
