Comments on development

  • ECON.COM: A WELL-GRADED COUNTY ROAD CONNECTS STATE HIGHWAY 8, ABOUT 11 MI ( 18 KM ) NORTH OF THE AREA, WITH US HIGHWAY 212 AT NEWELL, THE NEAREST RAIL SHIPPING POINT. AREAS NOT ACCESSIBLE BY THIS COUNTY ROAD CAN BE REACHED BY DIRT RANCH ROADS AND FOREST SERVICE TRAILS. THE DEPOSIT IS LOCATED IN THE SLIM BUTTES, WHERE STEEP CLIFFS AS HIGH AS 250 FT ( 76 M ) AND V-SHAPED CANYONS, STEEP-SIDED GULLIES AND LANDSLIDE BLOCKS MAKE TRAVEL ALONG THE BASE DIFFICULT. SPRINGS, RESULTING FROM THE PERCHED WATER TABLE, ARE COMMON, BUT PERENNIAL STREAMS ARE ABSENT.
