Comments on the location information

  • IN VIEW OF DISTANCE OF DEPOSITS FROM POSSIBLE PORTS OF SHIPMENT, SURIMAM GEOLOGICAL AND MINING SERVICE BELIEVES THE EXISTENCE OF LARGE RESOURCES (OF THE ORDER OF 150-200 MILLION TONS) WOULD HAVE TO BE PROVED BEFORE ANY LARGE PROJECT COULD BE EMBARKED UPON, EVEN ONE YIELDING AN ANNUAL ORE PRODUCTION OF 5 MILLION TONS. SUCH A TONNAGE ADDED TO GROWING EXPORTS OF BAUXITE AND ALUMINA WOULD JUSTIFY IMPROVING PORT FACILITIES TO ACCOMMODATE LARGE VESSELS.
