  • SHAFT, ABOUT 15 FT DEEP, WAS SUNK BY CLAUDE PARSONS OF MOUNTAIN PARK AT INTERSECTION OF A PHONOLITE DIKE, STRIKING SW, AND A BASALT DIKE, STRIKING NW, IN THE COLD SPRINGS INTRUSIVE; COMPOSED OF GRANITE AND MICRODIORITE. CUPRITE AND MALACHITE WERE FOUND BY RYAN (NOVEMBER 1936). CHASE (1950A,B), WALPER (1949, 1951), AND VIDRINE AND FERNANDEZ (1986B) GIVE GEOLOGY OF AREA.
