  • ACCORDING TO CONRAD (1963) THE PRESENCE OF CHRYSOTILE ASBESTOS COULD NOT BE CONFIRMED. SEVERAL SPECIMENS OF ANTHOPHYLLITE WERE COLLECTED.

  • OLIVINE IS MEDIUM-GRAINED, GRANULAR, AND SEMI-FRIABLE. A UNIQUE FEATURE OF DEPOSIT IS PRESENCE OF CARYSOTILE ASBESTOS WHICH OCCURS AS SEAMS UP TO 6 INCHES THICK AND AS INDIVIDUAL FIBERS AND CLUSTERS OF FIBERS PENETRATING INDIVIDUAL OLIVINE GRAINS. DEPOSIT HAS A HIGH UNIFORM CHROMITE CONTENT.

  • DEPOSIT OUTCROPS ON NOSE OF LOW HILL IT IS COVERED WITH OVERBURDEN AND THOUGHT TO BE ABOUT 300 FT LONG AND 60 FT WIDE.
