  • GEOL.DESC: CONTORTED THIN-BEDDED CHERT WITH LAYER OF MANGANESE CARBONATE 8 TO 20 INCHES THICK, PARALLEL TO BEDDING AND CONTORTIONS OF CHERT. VEINS OF QUARTZ AND RHODOCHROSITE ARE NUMEROUS, AND SOME MALACHITE STAINS ARE PRESENT. CARBONATE ORE IS COATED WITH OXIDE. A SERPENTINE DIKE CUTS SANDSTONE AND SHALE N. E. OF THE ORE EXPOSURE.
