Deposit DOZER CUTS WERE MADE ALONG THRUST FAULT CONTACT OF LIMESTONE OVER SHALE. THE BRECCIA ZONE IS SEVERAL FT THICK, CEMENTED BY WHITE CRYSTALLINE CALCITE. CHINLE FM IS OVERLAIN BY FE-STAINED ALLUVIUM AND SAND/SILTSTONE WEATHERING IN SITU. WEATHERING OUT OF THE FORMATION ARE IRONMANGAMESE NODULES UP TO 2.5 IN DIAMETER. NODULES ARE OXIDIZED, OF VARYING DENSITIES, FRACTURED WITH LITTLE OR NO MAGNETIC PROPERTIES. SAMPLE WAS TAKEN FROM NODULES IN FLOAT; NONE OBSERVED IN OUTCROP.
