  • PROSPECT CONSISTS OF A TUNNEL NEAR THE CREST OF THE WEST NOSE OF THE RIDGE AND A SHAFT ABOUT 12 M (40 FT) DEEP ON THE CREST. IN 1941, THE SHAFT WAS OPEN BUT THE TUNNEL WAS CAVED. IN 1982, 5 PITS, ONE CAVED SHAFT AND POSSIBLY 2 CAVED TUNNELS WERE SEEN. ABUNDANT MANGANESE ORE CAN BE FOUND ON THE DUMPS AROUND 3 PITS, THE SHAFT AND TUNNELS. THE SHAFT IS 3.7 M (12 FT) SQUARE AND 2.4 M (8 FT) DEEP.
