  • SHAFTS AND PROSPECT PITS WERE DUG IN THE VICINITY, BUT LITTLE IS KNOWN ABOUT THEM. MOTTLED MARBLE IS EXPOSED UNDER THE RAILROAD TRESTLE ACROSS HYATT CREEK.

  • ABOUT 1937, RILEY LEDFORD REMOVED ABOUT A CARLOAD OF TALC FROM THE PIT BETWEEN THE RAILROAD AND THE HIGHWAY, BUT HE WAS STOPPED BECAUSE THE PIT WAS ON RAILROAD RIGHT-OF-WAY.
