Comments on the geologic information

  • THE MINE WAS OPENED IN A SHEAR ZONE IN BLUE-GRAY FLOW-BANDED RHYOLITE. RHYOLITE, WHICH CONTAINS A FEW LITHIC FRAGMENTS, HAS BEEN SILICIFIED AND CONTAINS FINELY DISSEMINATED BIOTITE AND PYRITE WITH MINOR SERICITE AND CHLORITE. CALCITE STRINGERS ARE ABUNDANT. FREE GOLD WAS UNCOMMON IN THIS DEPOSIT. ALTERED METAGABBRO DIKE ROCK, SHEARED IN PLACES AND SILICIFIED, IS ALSO FOUND ON THE DUMPS. PYRITE AND PYRRHOTITE ARE SMEARED ALONG SOME FRACTURES.u QUARTZ VEINS ARE RARE IN THIS DEPOSIT. ORE ZONE IS HEAVILY CARBONATED ANDu IN FRACTURES AND STRINGERS.
