  • SHAFTS, CAVED ADITS, STOPE. ALONG N SIDE OF CREEK AND JUST INTO MOUTH OF CANYON IS A SERIES OF OPEN CUTS AND PITS PARALLELLING THE CREEK. ON- MAIN RIDGE TO WEST OF THESE PITS IS A SERIES OF DOZER CUTS TH-AT RUN ALMOST TO RIDGE CREST. EASTERNMOST WORKINGS ON NORTH SI-DE OF CREEK APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN AN ADIT (NOW CAVED) MAYBE 100 -FT LONG. NEXT LARGEST WORKING TO WEST IS AN OPEN STOPE 2-5 FT -WIDE, VERY SINUOUS, VARIABLE STRIKE AND DIP. A SECOND SHAFT IS- LOCATED ALMOST ON RIDGE TOP ABOVE THESE WORKINGS. OPEN INCLIN-ED SHAFT EAST OF STOPE TRENDS S50W AND DIPS 65.

  • OLDER WORKINGS IN AREA WERE PROBABLY STAKED EARLIER UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME. CLAIM NOTICE READS GROUND STAKING DONE- NOV 1980 BY EXXON CO AS BOLD CLAIMS. THIS CLAIM IS NO. 248, S-TAKED BY RICHARD D. INBERG. PROBABLY OPEN GROUND CURRENTLY.

Deposit QUARTZ VEIN 2-5 FT WIDE WITH STEEP BUT SINUOUS DIP, ENCLOSED IN HORNFELS. QUARTZ VEIN IS GRAYISH WHITE WITH HEMATI-TE VEINLETS. TRACE OF CU OXIDES. HORNFELS IS HIGHLY OXIDIZED. -WORKINGS CLOSE TO CONTACT WITH DIORITE AND META-VOLCANICS, BOT-H OF WHICH HAVE BEEN METAMORPHOSED.
