Comments on the geologic information

  • DOMINENT ROCK TYPE IS A QUARTZ-FELDSPAR-BIOTITE GRANITE WITH NUMEROUS PHLOGOPITE-BEARING ORTHOCLASE-RICH PEGMATITE BODIES. ROCKS ARE HIGHLY FRACTURED AND THE GRANITE IS ALTERED. THE PEGMATITES ARE PINK TO WHITE AND FORM IRREGULAR DIKES THROUGHOUT THE GRANITE. COPPER MINERALS FOUND ALONG PREVALENT FRACTURES. SMALL QUARTZ VEINS CUT THE GRANITE AND PEGMATITES. THESE VEINS CONTAIN AZURITE, CHALCOPYRITE, SMALL AMOUNTS OF PYRITE, AND MOLYBDENITE. WEATHERS TO REDDISH-YELLOW RESIDUAL MATERIAL.
