  • CUT 30 FEET LONG AND 8 FEET WIDE, RUNNING S. 30 DEGREES E INTO THE HILL, WITH A FIFTEEN FOOT TUNNEL AT ITS INNER END. 60' SOUTH OF THE TUNNEL, AND ON THE SAME LEVEL WITH IT, IS A CUT 40 FEET LONG, 5 FEET WIDE, AND 6 FEET DEEP, FOLLOWING A CLAY-FILLED CAVITY IN THE LIMESTONE, WHERE BOULDERS ON THE DUMP EVIDENTLY CAME FROM. NO SPHALERITE SEEN IN WALLS OF CAVERN. BEARING SPHALERITE
