| Deposit | THE ORE IS FOUND IN TWO MEDIUM TO LARGE DEPOSITS AND SEVERAL SATELLITES MOSTLY IN THE BASAL UNIT OF THE DAKOTA SANDSTONE. THE UNIT FILLS CHANNELS SCOURED IN THE JURASSIC MORRISON FORMATION, AND IS OVERLAIN BY CARBONACEOUS SHALE AND INTERBEDDED FINE-GRAINED SANDSTONE. THE BEDS STRIKE N30W AND DIP ABOUT 30SW. THE TWO MAIN DEPOSITS ARE ABOUT 750 FT APART ALONG THE STRIKE. THE ORE BODIES PINCH OUT ABOUT 275 FEET VERTICALLY BELOW THE MINE ENTRY AT THE OUTCROP. THE ORE OCCURS IN PODLIKE MASSES, GENERALLY ELONGATE WITH THE DIP OF THE BEDS AND PARALLEL TO THE AXES OF CROSS-FOLDS AND TO THE PLUNGE OF SLUMPLIKE STRUCTURES IN THE HOST SANDSTONE. |
