Deposit BED OF GYPSUM SEVERAL FEET WIDE AND SEVERAL HUNDRED FEET LONG FORMS THE DEPOSIT. THE GYPSUM IS OFTEN INTERMIXED WITH LIMESTONE AND MAY HAVE RESULTED FROM IN-PLACE ALTERATION OF LIMESTONE.
