  • CONTACT ZONE IS COMPLICATED AND VARIES RAPIDLY ALONG STRIKE. ZONE IS COMPOSED OF A LAYER OF MASS-FIBER ASBESTOS THAT IN PLACES IS 3 FEET THICK. THE ASBESTOS ZONE IS BOUNDED ON ONE SIDE BY PERIDOTITE AND ON THE OTHER BY A THIN ZONE OF SCHISTOSE CHLORITE AND VERMICULITE.
