Comments on the geologic information

  • FISSURE CAN BE TRACED 7000 FEET ON SURFACE IN THRUST PLATE OF MENDHA AND HIGHLAND PEAK FORMATIONS. AN ALTERED GRANITE PORPHYRY DIKE PARALLELS THE FISSURE FOOTWALL. DIKE AND LIMESTONE ON FOOTWALL ALSO MINERALIZED. VALUES INCREASE DOWN SHAFT, ORE UP TO 35 FEET THICK.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • PROBABLE ORE RESERVES WITHIN 300 FT OF SURFACE. ALSO, EARLIER UNDATED UNPUBLISHED NBMG REPORT STATES PROBABLE RESERVES OF 40,000 TONS ORE AT ABOUT 0.03 OZ/T AU AND 8 OZ/T AG.

Comments on the workings information

  • MAIN WORKING IS AN INCLINED SHAFT 55SE, 60 DEGREES, ALONG THRUST, ALSO SMALL PITS

Comments on development

  • AREA RECENTLY FLAGGED, STAKED, AND DRILLED (1983) BUT NO PRODUCTION WITHIN LAST SEVERAL YEARS. IN 1983 IT WAS REPORTED THAT ALTERA RESOURCES TOGETHER WITH FREJONLEY MINING ACQUIRED 104 UNPATENTED LODE CLAIMS OF THE BLACK PRINCE PROPERTY FOR 5.6 MILLION DOLLARS. 15 SHALLOW-ANGLE DRILL HOLES WERE COMPLETED ON THE PROPERTY IN 1981, 12 OF WHICH INTERSECTED THE BLACK PRINCE VEIN.

Deposit BLACK PRINCE FISSURE, FILLED WITH ALTERED MN-STAINED ORE. HEMATITE-STAINED QUARTZ NODULES, OXIDIZED PYRITE, PYROLUSITE, SLIGHTLY MAGNETIC NODULES OF WAD, SOME CARRYING CRYSTALLINE CALCITE VEINLETS, SLIGHT SILICIFICATION. OPALINE SILICA COATS FRACTURE SURFACES AND FILLS VUGS. A MINOR SHEAR ZONE IS EXPOSED AT SHAFT. LIMESTONE ON DUMP IS PINK (FE OXIDE-STAINED ? RHODOCHROSITE?), BANDED, WITH CRYSTALLINE CALCITE VEINLETS, AND NODULES OF PLATY CALCITE WHICH CEMENT BRECCIA. VALUES INCREASE WITH DEPTH. 1981 DRILL HOLE DATA YIELD AN AVERAGE TRUE THICKNESS OF 12.4 FT FOR THE BLACK PRINCE VEIN AT 3.4 OZ/T AG. THE VEIN IS RELATIVELY CONTINOUS ALONG STRIKE FOR 2600 FT.
