| Deposit | LOCATED IN 1861. THE MINE IS ON THE SAME VEIN AS FOUND AT THE DESOTO MINE. ORE WAS MINED BY STOPING FROM THE STOCKWORK PARTS OF THE DEPOSITS. MINE OPENED UP IN 1856 ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT |
| Deposit | MINE IS ON THE SAME VEIN AS THE DESOTO. ORE VEINS FILL PREMINERAL FAULT FISSURES OF SMALL DISPLACEMENT IN RHYOLITE INTRUSIVES AND THE LOWER MEMBER OF PRIDA FORMATION. IN THE RHYOLITE THE VEIN STRIKES NEARLY NORTH AND DIPS 65 TO 75 DEGREE W AND IS UP TO 3 FEET WIDE. UPON ENTERING THE OVERLYING SANDSTTONE (BASAL UNIT PRIDA FM) THE VEIN SPLITS INTO NUMEROUS VEINLETS ALONG BEDDING PLANES AND FRACTURE CLEAVAGES. THE BASAL UNIT OF THE PRIDA FORMATION IS OVERLAIN BY AN IMPERVIOUS THIN SHALY LIMESTONE TRAPPING THE MINERALIZING SOLUTIONS. NORTH OF THE CANYON THIS VEIN IS OFFSET TO THE WEST.; MODEL NAME COULD ALSO BE: POLYMETALLIC VEINS. |
