Comments on the production information

  • TOTAL VALUE PRODUCED WAS $5,000 TO $100,000 CUMMINGS MINES ORE THAT RANGED IN CONTENT FROM 300 TO 1500 OUNCES SILVER TO THE TON. THIS MUST HAVE BEEN CAREFULLY HAND-SORTED MATERIAL. CUMMINGS' PRODUCTION IS UNCERTAIN BUT DID NOT EXCEED A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS.

Comments on the workings information

  • THE PORTAL OF THE CUMMINGS LEASE TUNNEL IS ON THIS CLAIM. THE TUNNEL FOLLOWS A QUARTZ VEIN FOR A DISTANCE OF 290FT IN TO THE HILL SIDE. THREE RAISES, ONE REACHING THE SURFACE, EXPLORE THE UPPER PART OF THE VEIN; AND WINZES WITH DRIFTS LEADING FROM THEM FOLLOW THE VEIN FOR A DISTANCE OF MORE THAN 100 FEET DOWNDIP BELOW THE TUNNEL LEVEL.

Comments on development

  • MUCH OF THE WORK WAS DONE BY CON CUMMINGS UNDER LEASE IN 1916.
