  • MAIN TURQUOISE PRODUCER IN THE ROYSTON DISTRICT: WORKMAN AND DAVIS SOLD MINE TO WILLIAM PETRY FOR $3000, WHO DEVELOPED THE MINE, ASSURED ITS PRODUCTION AND SOLD IN 1907 TO THE HIMALAYA MINING CO., OWNED BY JULIUS TANNENBAUM OF L.A. AND N.Y-MINED WAS SYSTEMATICALLY WORKED, 1908-1909. 1911-MINE WAS SOLD BACK TO PETRY. PETRY AND W.I. MILLER MINED IT FOR AWHILE, THEN LEASED IT TO LEEHAND AND BERT KOPENHAVER, WHO WORKED THE MINE DUMPS, THEN BOUGHT THE MINE. OWNERSHIP CHANGED HANDS MANY TIMES IN 1930'S & 40'S WITH INTERMITTENT PRODUCTION
