  • A BARITE UNIT OCCURS IN MUDSTONES, CHERTS AND LIMESTONES OF THE ORDIVICIAN VININI FM. (?). THE UNIT IS 12' THICK AND STRIKES N10W, 40W. PART OF THE UNIT IS GOOD QUALITY, THE REST IS COMPRISED OF GOSSAN AND JASPEROID THAT CONTAINS SOME BARITE, AND BRECCIATED MUDSTON AND IGNEOUS ROCK. THE BARITE IS THEIN BEDDED, YELLOW BRIWN IN COLOR AND FETID. SOME LARGE, RADIATING CRYSTALS ARE PRESENT LOCALLY AND FEOXS ARE ABUNDANT ON FRACTURE SURFACES. MONOR QUARTZ IS PRESENT.
