| Deposit | ORE ZONE REPORTED TO BE 30.5 M (100 FT) WIDE IN THE TUNNEL, BUT STOSE, ET. AL., (1919) REPORTED THE ORE ZONE DID NOT APPEAR TO BE OVER 6 M (20 FT) WIDE IN THE OPENCUT. THE ORE OCCURS AS THIN SEAMS IN CRACKS AND SPACES BETWEEN BLOCKS AND FRAGMENTS OF BRECCIATED SANDSTONE AND ALONG JOINT AND BEDDING PLANES. THE SEAMS REACH A MAXIMUM THICKNESS OF 10 CM (4 IN), BUT THERE ARE POCKETS WHICH CONTAIN UP TO 100 POUNDS OF ORE. THE SANDSTONE IS BRECCIATED, SOFT, BUFF AND CRUMBLES READILY. THE MANGANESE CEMENTS THE SANDSTONE. |
