Comments on the geologic information

  • LOCAL ENVIRONMENT: CAMBRO-ORDOVICIAN DOME STRUCTURE CUT BY MINERALIZED QUARTZ VEINS RELTED TO EMPLACEMENT OF HERCYNIAN GRANITE. MAJOR POST-ORE GEOLOGIC EVENT: SMALL SCALE FOLDING AND FRACTURING. PRINCIPAL MINERAL ASSEMBLAGES: QRTZ + FLDP + TRML + WLFM + CSTR + FLRT + BRYL + PYRT + ARPR + MRCS + CLCP + SPLR + STNT + BSMT + BSMN + SCLT. QUARTZ VEINS OCCUR OVER AN AREA 600 M BY 300 M. INDIVIDUAL VEINS RANGE FROM 0.3 TO 2 M THICK. STRATABOUND DEPOSITS IN THE GENERAL AREA (AURIOLE AND L'HOM-HAUT) CONSIST OF DISSEMINATED SCHEELITE AND FLUORITE IN MIDDLE CAMBRIAN SCHIST AND CARBONATE LAYERS. THESE DEPOSITS MAY BE EITHER SYNSEDIMENTARY OR RELATED TO AN EARLIER PHASE OF GRANITE INTRUSION DURING CAMBRIAN TIME.
