BEDROCK NEAR MOUTH IS DECOMPOSED TUFF AND POORLY CONSOLIDATED SHALE AND SANDSTONE. BEDROCK NEAR HEAD (IN LIVENGOOD QUAD) IS SLATE AND QUARTZITE.

Deposit THIS SITE NAME WAS CREATED BY THE REPORTER OR OTHER USGS EMPLOYEE BASED ON PROXIMITY TO SOME MAJOR GEOGRAPHIC FEATURE.
Deposit GOLD IN STREAM AND BENCH PLACERS IN THE BASAL PART OF GRAVEL AND THE TOP 1.5 FT. OF FRACTURED BEDROCK. GRAVEL 2-12 FEET THICK OVERLAIN BY UP TO 40 FEET OF MUCK. MOST OF GOLD HAS COME FROM TERRACE GRAVEL ON A SOUTH BENCH 15-20 FT. ABOVE CREEK.
