  • DURING WORLD WAR II ABOUT 9 MINES YIELDED 4,294 SHORT TONS OF ORE CONTAINING 80,719 POUNDS V2O5 (AV. GRADE 0.94% V2O5). THIS ORE WAS PURCHASED BY METALS RESERVE CO., BUT PROBABLY IT WAS NEVER PROCESSED. SMALL AMOUNTS OF V ORE WERE PRODUCED SPORADICALLY IN EARLIER YEARS FROM THE DISTRICT.
