  • GEOL.DESC: THE COMPACTED GRAVEL IS MIXED WITH A LITTLE SAND AND CLAY; FEW BOULDERS. THREE DISTINCT GRAVEL CHANNELS; DEPOSIT IS EVIDENTLY THE REMNANT OF AN ANCIENT CHANNEL OR OLD BENCHES OF CALAVERAS RIVER. TWO OF THE CHANNEL RUNS HAVE A TOTAL WIDTH OF 350' OF GRAVEL, FROM 26-40' IN DEPTH. SLATE BEDROCK, GRAVEL TESTS $3 A CU. YD.
