THE ORE OCCURS AS LENSES IN CHERT, AND IS MOSTLY SOFT, BLACK MANGANESE OXIDE WITH A DULL METALLIC LUSTER. ORE LENSES ARE PARALLEL TO CHERT BEDDING.
