  • Geol.Desc: Manganese Ore Occurs In Series Of Beds Or Lenses Of Fine Grained Quartzite Or Quartz Schist (Meta Chert) Which Is Enclosed In A Quartz Rich Quartz Muscovite Biotite Schist. These Units Are Cut By 3 To 4 Inch Thick Quartz Veins. Mangani Ferous Chert Beds And Enclosing Schists At Main Working Strike N 45 To 70 W, Dip 40 To 50 N. E., And Are Offset By Faulting In Places. Ore Is Mainly Psilomelane And Pyrolusite, With Red Mon Oxide Stains And Patches Of Quartzose Material Of Meta Chert. Partially Oxidized Pink Rhodonite Is Exposed In One Outcrop, And Is Probably The Main Primary Mineral.
