Comments on the geologic information

  • GEOL.DESC: ORE BODY IS A MASSIVE CRESCENT SHAPED LEDGE ABOUT 140 FT. LONG AND 11 FT. IN MAXIMUM WIDTH. IT AVERAGES 8 FT. IN THICKNESS AND CONSISTS OF A MASS OF RHODONITE, BEMENTITE AND RHODOCHROSITE, IN THIN-BEDDED CHERT, WHICH IS NEAR A MASS OF GREENSTONE. REGIONAL STRIKE IS N. W., AND DIP IS NEARLY VERTICAL. ORE BODY IS BOUNDED BY A VERTICAL FAULT WHICH BRINGS GREENSTONE AGAINST CHERT ABOUT 10 FT. S. W. OF ORE BODY. MUCH OF ROCK CONSISTS OF A MINERAL THAT RESEMBLES BEMENTITE, PERHAPS BROUNITE OR HAUSMANNITE, OR A HYDROUS SILICATE.
