  • GEOL.DESC: BODY OF RHODOCHROSITE, RHODONITE, BEMENTITE, AND PERHAPS INESITE, LYING IN THIN-BEDDED BUFF CHERT. STRIKE IS N. W. AND DIP IS 55 N. E. ORE BODY EXPOSED FOR AT LEAST 40 FT. ON FACE OF CANYON WALL, WITH AVERAGE THICKNESS OF 5 FT. BEDDED DEPOSIT IN CHERT HAS BEEN HYDROTHERMALLY ALTERED. RHODONITE SEEMS TO HAVE REPLACED RHODOCHROSITE, AND IS ALSO CUT BY LATE VEINS OF RHODOCHROSITE. IN PLACES GREENSTONE STRINGERS CUT THE ORE.
