Comments on the geologic information

  • TAPEATS SANDSTONE (CAMB) OVERLIES DEPOSIT. WILSON MAPS BOTH OVERLYING SYCAMORE CREEK SANDSTONE (DEV), AND REDWALL LIMESTONE (CARBONIFEROUS). NO RECENT DETAILED MAPPING, SEE CONWAY, 1976, FOR REGIONAL GEOLOGY NO MINERALIZATION IN OVERLYING SEDIMENTS. FAULT ASSOCIATED WITH DEPOSIT CUTS SEDIMENTS, BUT IT IS STILL POSSIBLE THAT MINERALIZATION WAS PRECAMBRIAN AND FAULT WAS A REACTIVATION OF A PRECAMBRIAN NW-TRENDING SHEAR. THIS IS THE ONLY MINE IN THE COUNTY AT WHICH THERE IS POSSIBLE EVIDENCE FOR POST PRECAMBRIAN MINERALIZATION.
