  • GEOL.DESC: SLIGHTLY DISH SHAPED REMNANT OF MORE EXTENSIVE BED OF MANGANIFEROUS CHERT OVERLIES QUARTZ MICA SCHIST, WHICH IS UNDERLAIN, APPARENTLY BY A GNEISSIC QUARTZITE. CHERT AVERAGES 10 FT. IN THICKNESS, WITH 25 FT. MAXIMUM THICKNESS, AND CROPS OUT OVER AN AREA 40 FT. LONG BY 30 FT. WIDE. ORE IS VERY SILICEOUS OXIDE MATERIAL, DISSEMINATED IN RECRYSTALLIZED CHERT, AND ALSO OCCURS AS FILMS ALONG FRACTURES IN CHERT.
