General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit DEPOSIT OCCURS AS REPLACEMENT OF LIMESTONE BED BUT MAY CROSS-CUT BEDDING AT DEPTH (M40 & M50 AS OF 1931). MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN THE LIMESTONE AND SHALE ABOVE THE QUARTZITE. THE SHAFTS ARE IN A SILICIFIED, BRECCIATED LIMESTONE UNIT (PIOCHE FM). PUMP ROCK IS BROWN SILICIFIED LIMESTONE WITH QUARTZ AND CALCITE VEINS AND VEINLETS. SOME QUARTZ VEIN WAS NOTED WITH PODS OF GALENA AND COPPER OXIDES. SOME STRONGLY SILICIFIED QUARTZ-CEMENTED BRECCIA WITH SILICIFIED FRAGMENTS WAS NOTED ON THE DUMP. ALTHOUGH NO STRUCTURE WAS OBSERVED IN THE SHAFTS, THE PRESENCE OF ABUNDANT BRECCIA ON THE DUMP AND THE ALIGNMENT OF THE SHAFTS INDICATE THAT THESE WORKINGS EXPLORED REPLACEMENT ALONG A SHEAR ZONE. POSSIBLY THE QUARTZ VEIN WAS EMPLACED ALONG A SHEAR ZONE ALSO, ALTHOUGH THE VEIN DID NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN BRECCIATED.
