  • BEDROCK CONSISTS OF LOWER MISSISSIPPIAN-UPPER DEVONIAN KANAYUT CONGLOMERATE, COMPOSED OF A QUARTZ & CHERT PEBBLE CONGLOMERATE AND A CLEAN WHITE SANDSTONE. MISSISSIPPIAN KAYAK SHALE COMPOSED OF SILTSTONE, SHALE, & SANDSTONE IS EXPOSED AT THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. MINERALIZATION OCCURS AT IN SPHALERITE-BEARING SILICEOUS BRECCIA & IN A SHPALERITE- BEARING CHERT-PEBBLE CONGLOMERATE (MLA121-82). 1991 BURAU SAMPLES OF THE SANDSTONE BRECCIAS CONTAINED UP TO 15% ZINC, 1.5% LEAD, 3.4 OZ/T SILVER, AND 2000 PPM BARUIM. A MASSIVE SPHALERITE SAMPLE CONTAINED 31.4% ZINC, .49% LEAD, AND 5.9 OZ/T SILVER. (BMOF 75-92).
