| Environmental Factors | SEDIMENT COLLECTED IN THE SAN SIMEON CREEK ABOVE THE CAMBRIA MINE TRIBUTARY CONTAINED ELEVATED ANTIMONY, ARSENIC, AND LEAD, INDICATINGAN UPSTREAM SOURCES (POSSIBLY THE HAMILTON MINE). MEAN AND MAXIMUM CONCENTRATIONS DETECTED IN WATER SAMPLES FROM THE ENTIRE SAN SIMEON CREEK WATERSHED IN 1992 WERE COMPARED TO 1993 STANDARDS. MAXIMUM CONCENTRATIONS OF TOTAL CHROMIUM, TOTAL MERCURY, TOTAL NICKEL, TURBIDITY, ELECTRICAL CONDUCTANCE, SODIUM, CHLORIDES, AND BORON EXCEEDED A VARIETY OF HUMAN HEALTH, FISH AND WILDLIFE, AGRICULTURAL, PLANT, AND NUISANCE STANDARDS. |
