Deposit W.M.R. 91.883 STATES THAT THIS MINE HAS PROBABLY PRODUCED OVER MILLION TONS OF ORE. THE ORE OCCURRED NEAR THE SURFACE AND WAS MINED BY STRIPPING SHAFTS NO DEEPER THAN 60 FT. ROGERS (GEOLOGY OF PA., VOL.2, 1858) DESCRIBES THE ORE AS INTERMEDIATE BETWEEN HEMATITE AND MAGNETITE, AND FOUND IN BE VARYING THICKNESS (1 TO 17 FT.)
