Comments on the production information

  • OUTPUT FOR COMMODITIES OTHER THAN K2S04 ARE IN TONNAGES OF EXPECTED SALES. TO PRODUCE 500 MT PER DAY OF K2SO4,OVER 1000 MT/DY OF MGLC2 COULD THEORETICALLY BE PRODUCED. IF IT IS ASSUMMED THAT 10 OF THIS IS SOLD, THE OUTPUT OF THIS COMMODITY WOULD BE 600 MT/DY OF BRINE CONTAINING 35% MGCL2-6H2O. TO INCREASE PRODUCTION OF NACL WOULD REQUIRE ADDITIONAL CAPIITAL EXPENDITURE.
  • ALTHOUGH THE YIELDS OF COMMODITIES OTHER THAN POTASH ARE FAR BELOW 100%, THEIR IONS REMAIN THE PONDS AVAILABLE FOR FUTURE RECOVERY. GRADE OF K2SO4 IS 52% K2O (96.2% OF THEORETICAL) AND THE GRADE OF OTHER PRODUCTS IS ASSUMED TO 100% (EXCEPT FOR MGCL2). GRADE OF 35% MGCL2.6H2O EQUALS 16.39% MGCL2. RECOVERY FOR PB IS ACTUALLY 22.4%; FOR PC, 13.55%; AND FOR PD 9.13%.
  • FIRST PRODUCTION AND SHIPMENTS IN 1970, BUT COMPANY CONSIDERED 1975 TO BE THE FIRST FULL YEAR OF COMMERCIAL PRODUCTION SINCE 1976 SOME KCL BRINE HAS BEEN PURCHASED TO INCREASE THE PRODUCTION OF K2S04. OTHER GEOCHEMICAL REFERS TO CHEMICAL ANALYSES OF THE LAKE BRINE.

Comments on the reserve resource information

  • RESERVES AS OUTLINED IN THE NOV., 1981 IFOC PROPERTY FILE. P5. RESERVES CALCULATED FOR USE IN THE 1983 PROPERTY EVALUATION.

Comments on other economic factors

  • PRESENT ANNUAL PROCESSING CAPACITY IN SHORT TONS REPORTED BY THE COMPANY TO BE: K2SO4 240000, NA2SO4 150000, MGCL2 200000 AND AS MUCH NACL AS CAN BE SOLD.
