Deposit NORANDA MINES PLANS TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE MILL TO 15400 MT ORE/DAY BY 1981. THE PROJECTED COST OF THIS EXPANSION IS $19 MILLION AND SHOULD EXTEND THE LIFE OF THE OPERATION UNTIL 1988. THE MINE HAD BEEN SCHEDULED TO CLOSE IN 1982. THE COPPER CONCENTRATE IS SHIPPED BY RAIL TO THE SMELTER AT NORANDA, QUE. OR DIVERTED TO OVERSEAS MARKETS THROUGH VANCOUVER, B.C. THE BELL MINE CLOSED IN EARLY 1992 FOLLOWING EXHAUSTION OF ECONOMIC RESERVES.
