Deposit ACCORDING TO CIS MAP: SIZE-SMALL GENESIS-HYDROTHERMAL SHAPE-MINERALIZED CRUSH ZONES HOST ROCKS-SANDSTONES/CONGLOMERATES CIS MAP INDICATES RESERVES EXIST. SCALE ON CIS MAP IS 1:5 MILLION. WORK AT THIS FACILITY HAS BEEN SUSPENDED DUE TO THE RISING COSTS OF ELECTRICITY. WORKERS PUT ON INDEFINITE LEAVE BECAUSE OF HIGH POWER COSTS AND OLD DEBTS. MINING JOURNAL 0CT 15, 1993. PLANT SOLD AT AUCTION OCT. 29, 1993 UNDER PRIVATIZATION SCHEME. ON VERGE OF BANKRUPCY, DUE TO HIGH COST OF MINING (7-8 MILLION RUBLES, COMPARED TO AVE. OF 5-6 MILLION), AND LOW RESERVES, WHICH SHOULD LAST ONLY 2-3 MORE YRS. LIFE COULD BE EXTENDED BY DEVELOPING NEIGHBORING ISKRA DEPOSIT, CONTAINING 2% SN.
