  • THE MAIN DEPOSIT OCCURS WITHIN DEVONIAN AND LOWER CARBONIFEROUS (MISSISSIPPIAN) LIMESTONE, SHALE, TUFF AND DOLOMITE. BARITE FOUND AS BEDDED REPLACEMENT OF LIME- STONE AND DOLOMITE AND IS A VEIN-TYPE DEPOSIT. THERE ARE TWO BARITE ZONES: THE MAJOR ZONE (GEO REC-11) STRIKES N20-35 DEGREES W AND DIPS 60-80 DEGREES NE; OTHER ZONE (GEO REC-12) STRIKES N30-45 DEGREES E AND DIPS 60-70 DEGREES NW.
