  • THE MDPA CONCESSION CORRESPONDS WITH THE SOUTHERN TWO- THIRDS OF THE WITTELSHEIM POTASH DEPOSIT. THE TWO BEDS OF THE WITTELSHEIM ARE SEPARATED BY APPROX. 20 METERS OF HALITE THE UPPER BED IS 1.5 TO 2.0 METERS THICK AND CONTAINS 30 TO 40% KCL WHILE THE LOWER BED IS 2.0 TO 5.5 METERS THICK WITH 23 TO 27% KCL. THE LOWER BED IS THE MOST EXTENSIVE AND IS THE MAIN HORIZON.

Deposit THE POTASH INDUSTRY OF FRANCE CONSISTS OF A GROUP OF MINES JUST NORTH OF MULHOUSE IN THE ALSACE. ALL MINES ARE OWNED BY MDPA AND THEREFORE ALL DATA IS AGGREGATED. AT PRESENT THERE ARE THREE MINES IN OPERATION: MARIE LOUISE THEODORE AMELIE THE RESERVES AT THE THEODORE MINE ARE ALMOST EXHAUSTED. THERE APPROXIMATELY THREE YEARS OF MINE LIFE REMAINING. IN ADDITION, THE ORE PRODUCED AT THEODORE IS OF LOW GRADE AND IN ORDER TO KEEP MILL RECOVERY AND CONCENTRATE GRADE HIGH IT IS NECESSARY FOR MDPA TO SHIP ORE FROM MARIE-LOUISE TO THE THEODORE MILL. THIS AMOUNTS TO APPROXIMATELY 16000 MTPY.
