  • AT PRESENT, THE PRODUCTION CAPACITY OF THE TROMBETAS PROJECT IS AT 8.5 MILLION METRIC TONS PER YEAR. THE ORIGINAL RATED PRODUCTION CAPACITY FOR THE TROMBETAS PROJECT WAS 3.35 MILLION METRIC TONS PER YEAR IN 1979. 1994 PLANS CALL FOR EXPANSION TO 12 MILLION MT IN 1996, IN ORDER TO FEED THE ALUNORTE ALUMINUM PLANT DUE TO COME ON LINE IN 1995.
  • AS OF FEB 9, 1993, MRN IS TO SUPPLY A MINIMUM OF 500,000 MTPY BAUXITE TO CIS (UKRAINE AND KAZAKHSTAN). ESTIMATED PRICE REPORTED TO BE $22.50-$23/MT F.O.B. TROMBETAS.
