  • PRODUCTS ARE 69 PERCENT INGOTS, 10 PERCENT BILLETS AND SLABS, 15 PERCENT ROD WIRE, AND 6 PERCENT CASTING ALLOY.

  • CAPACITY EXPRESSED IN TERMS OF AL METAL. THE MOSTAR SMELTER WAS CONSTRUCTED IN 1981. PRODUCTION WAS ESTIMATED TO HAVE STARTED IN 1984. THE PLANT CONTAINS 256 POTS IN ONE LINE AND IN TWO ROOMS. PRODUCTION CAPACITY WAS STATED AS 93,000 METRIC TONS PER YEAR AS INGOTS, EXTRUSION BILLETS, ROLLING SLABS, AND CONTINUOUS CAST WIRE. ALL FEED ORIGINATES FROM THE ALUMINIJ MOSTAR REFINERY. PLANT CLOSED DUE TO CIVIL WAR.

  • A LARGE PORTION OF PRODUCTION WAS SOLD TO PECHINEY. THIS CONTRACT WITH PECHINEY WAS TO EXPIRE BY THE EARLY 1990S. ITALY AND GERMANY ARE ALSO MAJOR BUYERS. SOME IS ALSO SOLD ON THE SPOT MARKET.
