Comments on the reserve resource information

  • THE DATA FOR THIS MINE, THE IHARKUT MINE, IS ALSO LOCATED UNDER THE DATA FOR THE BAKONY BAUXITE MINES UNDER SEQUENCE NUMBER 437-090-0021.
  • THE RESERVES OF BAUXITE ORE FOR THIS MINE IS A FRACTION OF THE TOTAL RESERVES OF 167,000,000 TONS FOR ALL OF THE BAKONY BAUXITE MINES, INCLUDING THE NYIRAD, HALIMBA III, IHARKUT, BITO II, FENYOFO I, AND BAKINYOSZLOP MINES. THE TOTAL RESERVES OF 167,000,000 TONS ARE SUFFICIENT FOR NEARLY SEVENTY YEARS OF PRODUCTION AT THE CURRENT RATES OF MINING. THE ALUMINUM GRADE AS REPORTED BY C.R.U. RANGED FROM 50.06% TO 50.84% AND IS A HEAD GRADE WHICH PROBABLY INCLUDED DILUTION.

Comments on other economic factors

  • THE EXPORTS OF THE BAUXITE ORE FROM THE BAKONY BAUXITE MINES, INCLUDING THE NYIRAD, HALIMBA III, IHARKUT, BITO II, FENYOFO I, AND BAKINYOSZLOP MINES, TO CZECHOSLOVAKIA, EAST GERMANY, AND POLAND HAVE DECLINED FROM 542,000 TONS IN 1980 TO 379,000 TONS IN 1988. THE REMAINDER OF THE BAUXITE ORE IS DELIVERED TO THE AJKA, ALMASFUZITO, AND MASONMAGYAROVAR CHEMICAL GRADE, ALUMINA PLANTS OF HUNGALU. THE APPORTIONMENT OF THE BAUXITE ORE TRANSPORTED TO THESE DESTINATIONS IS UNKNOWN. ALUMINUM SMELTING IN HUNGARY IS COSTLY, SINCE HUNGARY HAS NO CHEAP SOURCE OF ELECTRICAL POWER, AND ELECTRICITY IS A NECESSARY ELEMENT IN ALUMINUM SMELTING.
