Comments on the geologic information

  • MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN GREISEN BODIES AND STOCKWORKS OF VEINS IN SUBVOLCANIC GRANITE INTRUSIVES IN THE PRECAMBRIAN BRAZILIAN COMPLEX. THE GRANITE COMPLEXES BELONG TO THE RAPAKIVI . EROSION AND WEATHERING OF THESE DEPOSITS HAVE RESULTED IN THE FORMATION OF DEPOSITS IN PALEO VALLEY FILL, PRESENT VALLEY FILL, COLLUVIAL MATERIAL AND SEDIMENT -BEDROCK INTERFACES. THE CERIUMBRAS DEPOSIT IS SHALLOW ,3-4 METERS IN THICKNESS, WITH ONLY 2-3 METERS OF CLAY AND SOIL OVERBURDEN. MINERALOGI CALLY THIS DEPOSIT CONTAINS A MUCH HIGHER ILMENITE CONTENT THAN THE OTHER RONDONIA DEPOSITS.

Comments on other economic factors

  • FINAL CONS ARE SENT TO THE BEST SMELTER IN SAO PAULO. IT IS EVIDENT THAT SUBSTANTIAL SAVINGS COULD BE ATTAINED IN FREIGHT AND PROCESSING COSTS IF THE COMPANY INSTALLED A DRY MAGNETIC SEPERATOR. THE UNIT WOULD ABLE TO UPGRADE THE 35% CONCENTRATE TO OVER 60%, PERHAPS 70%. THE ILMENITE HAS NO ECONOMIC VALUE BECAUSE THE TRANSPORT COST EXCEEDS THE SALES VALUE.
  • OF ABOUT 5-10% SN. THE MATERIAL IS THEN FED TO A TINSHED WHICH PRODUCES A 35% SN CONCENTRATE. THIS CON HAS A RELATIVE LY HIGH ILMENITE CONTENT. HENCE THE TIN CONTENT IS ONLY 35%.
  • THE CERIUMBRAS MINE USES TWO STANDARD GRAVEL PUMP-MOBILE JIG PLANT. EACH HYDRAULIC MONITOR-GRAVEL PUMP UNIT HAS A CAPACITY OF 70 CUBIC METERS PER HOUR. IN 1981 315000 METERS OR 630,000 MT WERE MINED AND PROCESSESED. ALMOST HALF OF THE OPERATING TIME IS SPENT REMOVING 0 GRADE OVERBURDEN.
  • GRADE INCREASED FROM .019% IN 1981
