Comments on the geologic information

  • THE ORE FROM THE KEYNOT VEINS CONSIST PRIMARILY OF FINE- GRAINED FREE GOLD INTIMATELY ASSOCIATED WITH CHALCOPYRITE AND PYRITE. WHEN VISABLE, THE GOLD TYPICALLY OCCURS AS "NUGGETS", USUALLY LESS THAN 3 MM ACROSS; BORDERING, AND AS INCLUSIONS WITHIN, CHALCOPYRITE AND PYRITE CRYSTALS. IN ONE LOCATION UNDERGROUND, CRYSTALLINE GOLD FOLLOWING FRACTURES IN THE QUARTZ WAS OBSERVED. ACCESSORY ORE MINERALS CONSIST OF SILVER, PROBABLY ASSOCIATED WITH GALENA, AND MINOR SPHALERITE, MALACHITE, AND AZURITE. GANGUE MINERALS CONSITS OF QUARTZ, SERICITE, KA0- LINITE, PYRITE, AND ARSENOPYRITE. SULFIDE MINERALIZATION IS LOCALIZED, SEPARATED BY ZONES OF BARREN OR NEARLY BARREN BULL QUARTZ.
  • THE KEYNOT VEIN SYSTEM OCCURS AS FISSURE FILLINGS IN THE JURASSIC-TRIASSIC PAT KEYS PLUTON OF THE HUNTER MOUNTAIN QUARTZ MONZONITE. THE KEYNOT VEIN SYSTEM IS COMPOSED OF FOUR MAJOR VEINS WHICH STRIKE N 40-70 W AND DIP 25-55 SW. THE KEYNOT VEIN HAS A SURFACE LENGTH OF 1980 M AND AVERAGE VEIN THICKNES OF 0.6 M. THE WAREAGLE IS EXPOSED FOR 1500 M, AVERAGING 1 M THICK, EAST VEIN IS 500 M LONG AND 0.6 M THICK, AND WEST VEIN IS 1000 M LONG AND 0.5 M THICK.
