Deposit RECORDS 800-820 OF 1976 ENTRY BULL 35 - OWNERSHIP, LOCATION. BULL 940-J - EXPLORATION, COBALT DATA BULL. 14 - GENERAL INFO. FOR ALL RECORDS. REC 040 DEPOSIT IS 2.5 MILES SE OF CAVE SPRING AND A POWER A MILE TO THE EAST. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DATA TO CALCULATE SU AREA DIST. BUT 1908 TEXT (REC 702) CITES THAT OPEN SUR WORK CONTINUOUS OVER MORE THAN AN ACRE OF GROUND. RECORD 050/ 30 CARLOADS OF ORE WERE SHIPPED IN 1902. THE PROPERTY WAS SAMPLED BY PIERSE (1943) AND NUMEROUS CUTS SHAFTS WERE PUT DOWN BY 1902 REC 070 COBALT IS ASSOCIATED WITH LITHIOPHORITE AND HOLLAND OLD MILL TAILINGS CONTAINED 0.3% CO (REC 701) RECORD 080/ COBALT BEARING MANGANESE ORE OCCURS AS PELLETS O INTIMATELY ASSOCIATED WITH CHERT FRAGMENTS IN THE RESIDUAL R OF THE KNOX DOLOMITE. MASSES OF ORE HAVE BEEN FOUND IN THE C THERE IS NOT ENOUGH DATA TO RECORD DEPOSIT DIMENSIONS. THE CALLAHAN, GIBSON, PENLAND HILL, & BERKSTRESSER DEP IN GA THOMPSON PROPERTY IN ALA., AND THE ARMS MINE IN VA. HAVE AN ED AGGREGATE OF 25,000 TONS OF MN OXIDES WITH 0.2% - 0.3% CO 140,000 LBS OF COBALT (REC 701)
